The Songaminute Man
My father was diagnosed with dementia in 2013. He was a singer throughout his life and is known as The Songaminute Man simply because of how many songs he knows.
As a way of calming him down from the confusion, I used to take him for long drives, singing together in the car. I started to record them and share online with my friends, adding a fundraising link for an Alzheimer's charity.
Then something extraordinary happened...
Quando Quando Quando
In a few short weeks we raised over
£130,000 for the charity.
Dad then recorded a big band album with the world famous Guy Barker Orchestra,
while I went on to write a book about his life and our journey with dementia.
It's been a journey...
