The Story Behind the Album
Why a journey through space?
The inspiration came from the familiar opening words of Fly Me to the Moon and the wonderful image of travelling among the stars.
As Dad's dementia progressed, I sometimes imagined him somewhere far beyond the difficulties of the illness, travelling from planet to planet and entertaining audiences just as he had done in the clubs throughout his singing career.
It was a comforting thought: Dad continuing to do what he loved most, singing his favourite songs to audiences across the universe.
Swing on Jupiter and Mars! became the soundtrack to that imaginary journey — a celebration of music, imagination and a remarkable singer.
