Teddy Mac had been singing all his life, performing in clubs across the Midlands and Lancashire. Known as The Songaminute Man because of his extraordinary ability to remember hundreds of songs, music had always been his passion.
Following his Alzheimer's diagnosis, Teddy's son Simon began filming their car journeys together, using music to help calm the confusion and agitation brought on by the illness. As Teddy sang along to his favourite songs, something remarkable happened. The videos went viral, capturing the hearts of millions around the world and introducing Teddy's extraordinary voice to a whole new audience.
The extraordinary response led to a record deal with Decca Records and the release of Teddy's first single, with acclaimed musician and bandleader Guy Barker.
Following the Decca single, a crowdfunding campaign was launched to make Teddy's first full album a reality. Thanks to supporters from around the world, Teddy went on to record thirteen timeless Big Band classics alongside the magnificent Guy Barker Orchestra.
The result is a wonderful collection of much-loved songs, performed with the warmth, charm and unmistakable voice that made Teddy so special.
